Vestry

Josh Korzon, Warden

Josh lives in New Rochelle with his wife, Susan, and their two sons.  Josh grew up in Massachusetts where he was baptized and raised in the Congregational Church.  He would later spend time as a congregant in both Lutheran and Jesuit churches.  He moved to Mamaroneck in 2010, which is when he and Susan, a lifelong Catholic, found St Thomas.  After spending considerable time searching for a church that appealed to both of their Christian backgrounds, they finally came across the Episcopal Church and at St Thomas they found a welcoming community and place to raise their family.  They have attended St Thomas ever since and were proud to have both sons, James (8) and Nathan (5) baptized there.

Josh is an Executive Vice President for Lockton Companies, a global insurance brokerage firm which  provides insurance, employee benefits and risk management advice to large corporations. He graduated from Fairfield University with degrees in Finance and Accounting and later went on to obtain his Masters in Business Administration from St Johns University.

In his free time, Josh enjoys skiing with his family, golfing, reading, cooking, cheering for all Boston sport teams and coaching youth lacrosse.

Melodee Morrison, Warden

Melodee has been a member of St. Thomas Church for the last three years and joined the choir immediately. She was part of the Search Committee for our current Music Director. She has extensive experience in the Episcopal Church, serving as a Vestry Member twice at Christ’s Church, Rye, where she also was on the search committees for a new Rector and new Choir Director. Melodee also served as a Facilitator and Consultant for strategic Vestry meetings and retreats at several churches in the Diocese. She has sung in several church choirs including Christ’s Church, Rye, and St. James and St. Bartholomew’s in New York City.

Currently, Melodee is a Clinical Social Worker and has a private practice in Rye, NY.  Previously she was the Supervisor of Social Work on the Women’s Unit at New York Presbyterian Hospital, and the Manager of Leadership Development at GE Capital’s Center for Leadership and Organizational Excellence.

Her most important job has been and is always as Mother to Erin Corbett and Andrew Mahoney.

St. Thomas welcomed Melodee with such warmth and depth of Spirit, that she wants to give back by becoming part of the Vestry and contributing to the next chapter in the life of the Church.

Solange De Santis

Solange grew up in Bayside, Queens and moved to Mamaroneck in 2008. Since she could see St. Thomas’ tower from her apartment, she joined the church and, subsequently, the choir, finding a friendly and welcoming environment. She is also on the hospitality committee and has volunteered at the Christmas Fair and thrift shop. Music is one of her passions and she has been involved in producing several extracurricular music events at St. Thomas.

While living in Milton, Ontario, Canada, she attended an Anglican Church of Canada church and returned to New York to be editor of the Episcopal Church’s former national newspaper, Episcopal Life. She subsequently edited a successor publication, Episcopal Journal.

Her professional background is in journalism (Associated Press, Reuters, Wall Street Journal) and corporate communications. Currently, she is Executive Director of the Excelsior Symphony Orchestra and Director of Marketing for the Friends of Music chamber-music producing group. She holds a B.A. degree from Barnard College, a master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a master’s degree in Educational Theatre from N.Y.U.

Solange’s daughter, Flo, is a young adult and member of the congregation. Solange also delights in visiting her two stepdaughters, their spouses and her four grandchildren in Ontario, Canada. She cherishes the years-long friendships she has made at St. Thomas.

Cristina Fernández

Cristina Fernández joined St. Thomas Episcopal Church in 2019 after moving to Mamaroneck with her husband Derek and two children, Ariana (age 8) and Antonio (age 7). She is an active member of the Mamaroneck/Rye Neck community and co-troop leader for a local Girl Scout troop of current 3rd grade girls at the F.E. Bellows Elementary School.  Cristina works as a general pediatrician, newborn hospitalist, and health disparities researcher at the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. Born in Panamá, Cristina was baptized into the Episcopal Diocese of Panamá as a baby. From childhood through adulthood she has been part of vibrant Episcopalian congregations in Chicago; Silver Spring, Maryland; Washington D.C.; St. Louis; and the Manhattan Valley neighborhood in New York City. Cristina looks forward to serving on the vestry to support the mission and vision of St. Thomas, especially around Christian youth ministry and community outreach.

Ira Hart

Ira Hart has been a member of St. Thomas Church since 2002.  He is a retired NYC middle school teacher, and is the proud parent of Onyx and Micah.  Ira has previously served as a vestry member and as warden.  He is active in a number of church activities, included choir, altar guild, and hospitality.

Sue Perciasepe

Sue Perciasepe lives in Larchmont, NY with her husband, daughter Christine and grandson Brian. She has been a member of St Thomas Church since 1978, when her parents decided to move to Larchmont.

St. Thomas has always felt like an exciting and welcoming place to her, and she never had any doubts about raising her four beautiful children within the St. Thomas community.

She served in many different capacities throughout the years: on the vestry as a junior and senior warden, as a Sunday school director and teacher, she chaired the annual holiday fair, serves on the altar guild, volunteers at the thrift shop every other Saturday, and was a member of the outreach committee. As such she was fortunate enough to have travelled to Dodoma, Tanzania with some amazing people. This journey was in support of Carpenter’s Kids; a program that ensures HIV/AIDS orphans will receive a school uniform, a pair of shoes, and school supplies, which then will enable them to attend school.

Sue works as a senior executive secretary at Fordham University on the Rosehill campus for the past 17 years. She has enjoyed working first for the Arts & Sciences faculty dean and now currently for the theology department.

In her free time, she enjoys hiking with friends and family, gardening, creating crafty projects and most of all enjoying time with her family, especially her grandson Brian and granddaughter Mariella.

Mike Spoonauer

Mike Spoonauer has been a member of St. Thomas since 2015 and served on the Vestry once before as a member and as a Junior Warden.

Mike is truly excited by the opportunity to work side-by-side once more with the members of the Vestry and with Tami for the people of St. Thomas and for the surrounding community, and to take a fresh look as an entire congregation at how St. Thomas is evolving as a parish of the 21st century.

Pierce Wade

Pierce lives in New Rochelle with his partner, Jenn Micceri. He grew up in eastern Washington state, being raised spiritually in the Methodist church. He first attended services in the Anglican communion while on a study abroad program in the UK, and was confirmed in 2010 at Calvary Episcopal Church in Columbia, Missouri where he was completing an MA in Classical Languages. He began attending St. Thomas shortly after moving to Mamaroneck in 2016; he and Jenn became members in 2022.

Pierce has been a teacher of Latin, history, and mythology at the undergraduate, high school, and middle school levels since 2008. Since 2021 he has been teaching Latin at the Masters School in Dobbs Ferry. It's no surprise that a lot of his favorite parts of the St. Thomas community have been learning-focused: reading groups and the Sacred Ground Program that he and Jenn joined in 2020 along with several other St. Thomas members, though he also enjoys a rousing Game Night. He likes to spend his free time reading, watching movies, cooking, camping, and playing table-top role playing games.

Pierce is excited to be an active member of St. Thomas at this particular moment: our church has so many unique opportunities to be God's hands and feet in our community!

Peter Bruton was recently appointed by the Vestry to serve as Treasurer.  He succeeds Eleanor Cotter. He brings to the position a wealth of financial experience having worked on Wall Street for 40 years with firms Including Lehman Brothers, Citibank and Royal Bank of Canada.  A native Texan, Peter joined St. Thomas in 2022 and is married to Melodee Morrison, both a member of the Vestry and the Choir.
